Troop Overview

Troop 800 serves the Chula Vista and Bonita communities of San Diego County, California. The Troop is chartered by the Knights of Columbus at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, and is a member of the San Diego-Imperial Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Troop 800 meetings are held at 7:00 PM on the first three Tuesdays of the month, at the St. Rose of Lima Parish Hall. Troop meetings are Scout-led and adult supervised. The fourth Tuesday we meet at the hall for the Patrol Leaders Conference (PLC) and Parent meeting, where the Scouts plan and organize their events and activities with advice and logistics support from the adult leaders and parents.

Troop 800 provides a program that develops Character, Fitness and Citizenship, that is challenging and fun. Troop 800 has always had an active and diverse outdoors program. A typical annual program includes: backpacking, camping, canoeing, hiking, rifle and shotgun shooting, river rafting, rock climbing, downhill skiing, snowboarding, and summer camps. Troop 800 also 'gives back' to the community through a variety of troop and eagle community service projects.

Troop 800 is open to boys 11 years of age or older. No previous scouting experience required. Contact our Scoutmaster for additional information.

Troop 800 is dedicated to improving the lives of the boys and adults associated with it. Join us for our 2008 Scouting Adventure!
